Roadtrip 2012 but where to?

What better time will we have to take an awesome roadtrip like this?  We are in our late twenties, single and ready for adventure!  We have 10 days to do whatever we want.

Where should we go?
Option 1: Drive to Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Los Angelos, San Diego from Houston.
 
FAIL: Not enough time!!!


Option 2:  Fly to Maryland from Houston, stay with family, borrow cars.  Visit NYC, Boston, VA Beach, DC and anything else we have time for.


FAIL: We went to DC/NYC last year.  We want new adventure!!

Option 3:  Drive to Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon from Houston.


WINNER: Enough time.  Stella's never seen the Grand Canyon and Petunia's never been to Vegas.  Let's do this!!

Do we drive our own cars?  Petunia's car is too old and not sure if it would make it. 

Stella doesn't want to put the miles on her car so it will last a long time. 

It's good to have friends in rental car companies!  We are getting a free rental car plus an upgrade for free!  Awesome.  We still have to pay for the miles we drive but will get 1500 free miles.  Total Cost $400.  BINGO!  We are hoping to get a dodge charger as our rental.

Do we drive drive drive to the Vegas and GC?  No way.  Let's stop at all the fun sites along the way and enjoy this awesome adventure.

What is there to see?  Must research.  Thank goodness for the internet.
